Owner - Hughston Insurance
Kris Hughston is the independent licensed owner/broker of Hughston Insurance Solutions since 2008. She educates on the importance of life, critical illness, disability and travel insurances, group benefits and estate planning and investment advising. Kris is a Certified Executor Advisor and holds her Elder Planning Counsellor designation to work with and support seniors.
Kris is a founding partner of Project Lifesaver Simcoe, tracking devices the police use to find vulnerable citizens that are prone to wandering and going missing. Kris has done extensive fundraising for the Barrie Food Bank with 12 Ladies in a Tent, Tampon Tuesday’s and The Mac & Cheese Luncheon which have raised almost $750,000. As the current Past President of the Board of Directors for the Barrie Chamber of Commerce, Kris has been a member of the Chamber since 2008 and on the board since 2012. She continues to support the business community through the advocacy committee and is always available to lend a hand to help a fellow business owner.
Kris has won the Barrie Chamber of Commerce Presidents Award, The Legends in Legacy Award from Senior Wish and the Heart and Soul Award from the Barrie Examiner Women in Business for her community involvement. She is also a proud Kempenfelt Club Rotarian.
